We concentrate so much on carbohydrates, protein and fat in our daily diets which is important; but I think what is more important is the food we put on our plate and the source of where we get these carbohydrates, proteins and fats.
Getting a good balance of everything by first starting with healthy foods is the key. For example getting your carbohydrates from beans, lentils, fruits and vegetables and your fats from olive oil, nuts, seeds and avocados; your proteins from beans, lentils and fish because all of these foods are naturally imbued with all these wonderful life-giving nutrients.
What is also important is, how we cook these foods and the herbs and spices we use to prepare and flavor them. Flavor your foods with fresh herbs and spices. They have a really powerful medicinal quality, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-viral and they can actually help us with the general wear and tear of our bodies.
