Celebrate Life Health Expo:
A MEGA Experience and Larger-than-Life Learning Opportunity
Yavapai Regional Medical Center (YRMC) went big – we’re talking massive, mammoth, mega – during the Celebrate Life Health Expo in September 2019. This much-anticipated annual health and wellness event featured the world’s only larger-than-life, walk-through exhibits of the human body. And, because Celebrate Life Health Expo is YRMC’s gift to our community, the event was free.
In 2019, Expo attracted a record number of visitors. They explored MEGA Body™, MEGA Heart™ and Colossal Colon learning the inner workings of our bodies and ways to maintain health. YRMC’s team was on hand with positive and useful information on the benefits of regular exercise, a healthy diet and preventive screenings.
What does YRMC have in store for the 2020 Celebrate Life Health Expo? One thing is definite, we will bring you more MEGA fun activities and super-sized learning experiences. In the meantime, check out our 2019 Celebrate Life Health Expo video for highlights of this awesome event. You can visit us here for updates on our plans.
We Love Our Awesome Exhibitors
Celebrate Life Health Expo 2019 featured more than 110 exceptional exhibitors who went the extra mile for all Expo guests. Let’s check out a few of the 2019 exhibitor activities, which featured:
- Health and fitness-focused happenings like a balance assessment “treadmill” from YRMC’s Physical Rehabilitation Services, a smoothie-making stationary bike, and CPR lessons using a computer-based system. (Wellby the Yavabear, YRMC’s health mascot crushed the CPR challenge!)
- Eye-opening health information delivered with punch. (For example, do you know the amount of sugar in your favorite sports drink? Dietitians from YRMC’s Nutrition Counseling measured out the nearly two-and-a-half tablespoons in a 20-ounce sports drink. It was sweet … too sweet.)
- Entertaining activities—selfie-screens, bean-bag tosses, balloon artists, a dance routine performed by a local dance troupe, Go Noodle kids’ fitness, and a visit from 1980s fitness gurus Jane Fonda and Richard Simmons. (Okay, they were not the real deal, but the James Family Prescott YMCA staff members did a darn good imitation.)
- Great giveaways and lots of chances to enter and win prizes—cool electronics, kids’ books, gift baskets brimming with fantastic items, just to name a few.
Best of Show Exhibitors!
We appreciate all of our exhibitors, but several stood out enough to win our 2019 “Best of Show” friendly competition. Congratulations to these 2019 Celebrate Life Health Expo “Best of Show” exhibitors:
