Let your physician know you value all they do. Write a personal note of gratitude, and if you choose, make a donation in their name to the Yavapai Regional Medical Center Foundation.
Please send your note, and if you choose, your donation to: YRMC Foundation, 1003 Willow Creek Road, Prescott, AZ 86301. The YRMC Foundation will deliver your personal note to your physician on March 30. Your gift information will remain confidential.
National Doctors’ Day is celebrated each year on March 30. This date marks the first administration of ether anesthesia for surgery to remove a patient’s tumor. The year was 1842.
The first Doctors’ Day observance took place in Winder, Georgia in March of 1933. It included the mailing of greeting cards and placing flowers on the graves of deceased physicians. A red carnation is commonly used as the symbolic flower for National Doctors’ Day. On October 30,1990, President George H. W. Bush signed legislation designating Doctors’ Day as a national holiday to be celebrated on March 30.
