On March 1, 1943, Prescott Community Hospital – now Dignity Health Yavapai Regional Medical Center – opened its doors to care for patients. By 9 p.m. on that date, the first baby had been delivered at the new hospital.

Fast forward 75 years to 2018. That’s when the community came together to remember and celebrate Yavapai Regional’s 75 years of service. Residents from throughout the Quad Cities – some who were instrumental in founding the hospital – shared memories of Yavapai Regional. Their stories are captured here for the “Memory Catcher Project,” which Yavapai Regional sponsored as part of the organization’s 75th anniversary.
