Today we are going to make a delicious recipe using brussels sprouts – one of the most unpopular vegetables thanks to our dear grandmother’s method of cooking them or better yet, boiling them to death. These fabulous miniature cabbage looking hearty winter vegetables can be prepared in so many fantastic new ways, it just takes a quick google search to discover them and be amazed at what you will find; kung pao style, in a pasta carbonara with bacon, even on a pizza!
I personally like them roasted; just cut them in half and toss them in a little olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper. Put them on a baking sheet for 450 degrees and they’ll cook rather quickly. Make sure to take them out when the outer edge is nicely caramelized and there you go!
For those who like to eat them raw you can shave the brussels sprouts or slice them really thin and tenderize them with a little olive oil, salt and lime juice like we demonstrate on this video. Feel free to click on the video to see the demonstration or click on the link below for the complete recipe.
So forget about that bad reputation that brussel sprouts have and start enjoying this healthy and delicious vegetable!
