Say No to Tobacco in 2018

| Posted by | Categories: Your YRMC

Are you thinking about quitting tobacco? We have some very encouraging numbers for you:

  • 20 MINUTES after smoking your last cigarette, your blood pressure decreases and your pulse rate drops to normal.
  • 8 HOURS after quitting, the carbon monoxide level in your blood drops to normal.
  • 24 HOURS after quitting, your chance of heart attack decreases.

That’s not all! Yavapai Regional Medical Center is offering classes that can help guide you toward quitting for good, just in time for the New Year.

The introductory/enrollment session will be held Monday, January 8th from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. At this first session, you can meet the facilitators and learn more about the classes. It will be held at Yavapai Regional Medical Center, 1003 Willow Creek Road in Prescott. Just follow signs in the main lobby to the Cafeteria.

Once you’ve decided to enroll, you’re encouraged to attend all 5 sessions as follows. All sessions meet 7:00 to 8:30 PM:

  • Thursday, January 11th
  • Tuesday, January 16th
  • Wednesday, January 17th
  • Monday, January 22nd
  • Tuesday, January 23rd

Free nicotine replacement options are available too. Talk with your facilitator for details.

Make 2018 the year you finally say ‘no’ to tobacco. YRMC will be there to help you along the way. Click here for more information, or call (928) 771-5102.
