The annual holiday meal at Yavapai Regional Medical Center is no small event. YRMC’s Nutrition Services team prepares more than 1,350 free, festive meals in the span of two days, on both the East and West campus. It’s a gift to the employees, staff and volunteers each year, in appreciation of a job well done.

Jeanne Briggs, Director of Nutrition Services at YRMC, says it’s a hectic week, with hundreds of trays of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans and pie in need of preparation.
Shelley Stophlet, Senior Production Manager, agrees. “It’s controlled chaos,” she says with a smile.
This year’s meal came off without a hitch. Employees, staff and volunteers stopped by the cafeteria during their shifts or during their time off for laughter, camaraderie, and of course a delicious turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Administrators and Department Managers donned aprons and served the meals while offering their thanks for a great year.
So, the next time you begin fretting about that family dinner you have to prepare, remember the annual YRMC holiday meal. The task may not seem quite as daunting!
Happy Holidays from YRMC Nutrition Services!
